An infection of the air-sacs (alveoli) of the lungs that causes inflammation (swelling and redness) and fluid build-up. Symptoms include fever, chills, muscle aches and weakness, severe chest pain, cough, shortness of breath and difficulty breathing. It can be dangerous, especially in young children and the elderly.
